We will always wish to go back to before.
It was better then. It was safer and nothing went wrong.
Unfortunately, going back to before also means losing what has gone right in our lives. No matter what may go wrong, it is never worth giving up our 'now' and especially our 'later.'

Um, OK. Did something happen to you? Do you need an adult?
I used to think that there were any number of things I would go back and change if I could. But I wouldn't do it now because I like my life now too much. The only thing I would change would be to be a better mother to Heidi. And to try to find a way to help you have had more early successes.
I guess I'll just have to save those for my genie wishes.
A friend of mine was feeling sad about something, and that's what I wrote to make her feel better. I really liked it though so I posted it here.
